Newbie Guide
General: War of legend is a violent player killing mud. Dont mind that
though, There is a number of other things you can do. Pking is just the
main theme of the mud. In Wol (War of legend) you have a lvling system.
You kill monsters and just gain experience/Gold. The max level for a
character is lvl 100. Upon completion of lvl 100 you can type mastery if
you have (all weapons at 200). Mastery will give you a new item, and it
will double your hps/mana/move, and for most classes you will gain a new
skill. WoL also has quests and a token system. Quests allow you to get
quest points, to buy special items and pkpowers. Pkpowers are used in
pking of course, they are minor things that can be used for a strategy
based approach. Tokens are gathered by a change upon a death of a mob.
The stronger a monster is the better chance you have to getting one of the
4 tokens. Tokens come in Quest/Copper/Silver/Golden.
Also upon death of a monster you can get a thing called a Chest, You can
open these chests at your own risk. Chests have a chance to
explode/poison you/and make a mimic (monster) that attacks you. If the
chest opens successfully you can get numorous items/materia/Relics (Better
then normal gear)/tokens/recipes.
Well that is some little general information, time for me to get more in
depth in sections.

Leveling:
When you finally decide on what class to be, youll selfclass to the class.
After that the wonderful world of leveling to get stronger happens.
You know when you make you start at the Temple of God. Once you get your
class go down, and you can use the Look command and see that its a
teleporting room. I suggest saying Goblins or Sewers (I always use
sewers). Once into the new area, go ahead and c earthquake, to clear a
few rooms and get some equipment if the mobs drop any. After you get some
levels, you should think about switching from earthquake to berserk, so
you can start training your weapons under Level command. Each weapon will
max at 200, need them all for Mastery at lvl 100. When youre killing and
leveling there is a chance to get a random piece of equipment from
leveling. Use C identify item name, to find out what stats it gives. Go
ahead and make sure you wear them for all slots to replace your newbie
gear. (I will give you more details about equipment in the Equipment
Section) Below ill list a number of Monsters names that I use, for when
I level, You can follow as you may.
Level 1-25ish Sewer Rats
Level 25-35ish Elven hunters (may use longer if not strong enough to move
on)
Level 35-60ish Skeletons/Harpy/Cockroaches
Level 60-75ish Druids/Ghouls/Wounded Trolls/Monks/Goblin Champions/ORC
Grunts
Level 75-100 Patient/Bladedancer/ORC Warrior/Ronin Samurai/Apparitions/
Griffin/ Kendo Fighters/ Zen Archers/Highbournes/ Storm Giants(awesome for
looking for gear)/ Monstrous ORCs/ Orderly
Level Mastery: At mastery you should be able to kill mobs that give 150
gold per kill which are the following:
Crawler/Saint/Nurse/Wench/Treant/Orangatangs
Berserk: is based on AGI for constant hits, Strength/weapon average for
increase of damage per hit.
Earthquake: Is all Int based for damage, and hitting.
War Of Legend Days:
Wol has several days that it goes through on the mud. Each day is 30
ticks long and each of the days have a special thing they do, The
following will inform you.
Greed: This day will double your fortune per kill
Knowledge: This day will double your experience per kill (very nice for
lvling fast)
Sword: This day will double the speed of your weapontraining
Slaughter: This is a nice day for pking, It allows you to travel to
anyone.
Hunt: This day will increase the quest points on completion of the quest
tasks. Also will increase chance of getting Grandmaster/King items.
War: This day will double damage on everything,
Berserk/earthquake/skills/spells will do double the damage they previously
do on the other days.
Equipment:
War of legend has a Diablo style based eq system, mobs will drop gear
randomly. For Wol the gear best to find is Grandmaster and King items.
The others have a chance to be decent, but King and Grandmaster have the
highest chance to get what youre truly looking for.
Equipment Stating:
Each piece of gear can be fullstatted which means there is atleast 5
attribute for each one.
A Perfect Attribute piece is 35 in one stat and 5 in the rest meaning 35
int 5 wis 5 con 5 agi 5 str 5 dex
Another Perfect piece is 25 int 15 wis and 5 in the rest.
These unique (key word for all of them) can also load Spikes and magical
resistance.
The best spikes are called Gruesome Spikes (400 in number, you will notice
spikes under score)
The Best Magic resistance is 1050
Best Mobs to Hunt for gear are the following:
Storm Giants (125 gold per kill) Very nice for being fairly weak.
ORC Blademasters (150 gold per kill)
Deathknights (175 gold per kill)
Master Samurais (175ish gold per kill)
These 4 sets of mobs are good to choose if youre planning on gathering
items and trying to gear yourself out. I usually try and start eqing
around lvl 80-100 before I go mastery I try and have some of the stats you
want for every slot location you can wear.
Relics:
Relics are the best of the best for equipment. You have the potential of
getting some wicked gear. These equipment can have huge weapon average,
lots of stats, some haste(chance on another melee hit), some critical
hits(adds 33% damage to your melee hit)
You can wear a max of 5 relics on a character, Remind you that you can
WEAR but you can hold as many relics as you want in your inventory/bags.
Most people will end up using a Relic weapon or two, and choose 3-4 other
relic items to wear. For more details on relics you can look at the relic
section of Waroflegend.net.
Materia:
These floating devices will add atleast 2 stats, + something special once
you level it to Mythic, Materia will gain experience while youre killing
mobs, Once it levels it will drop into your inventory and you will have
to rewear it. There are 8 colors of materia: these colors are
Red/Yellow/Blue/White/Green/Purple/Black/Turquoise.
Each materia does something special. You can refer to the Materia section
on the Waroflegend.net site.
Tattoos:
Yes we have tattoos that we can wear in the game, There are four

do.

The Cost of tattoos are:
Arms: 300k per tattoo
Chest: 500k
Back: 750k
Tattoos are nice to get, make sure you get all your tattoos before you get
mastery.
Jewel Insetting:
You can inset 1 jewel per piece of equipment. (cannot inset a materia).
The following are all the jewels and what they do:
Wind: +10 int
Soul: +10 wis
Mountain: +10 con
Water: +10 Dex
Night: +10 agi
Tiger: +10 str
Forging/Refine:
In game you can help forge/Refine but, ill give you some brief details
about it.
You can forge 150k gold per piece, This means youll have to forge 3
different things per 150k, The max per attribute or anything else you can
forge is 50k total. So that leads to 3 different things forged per piece.
Example: forge item agi 10, forge item str 10, forge item damage 25
(damage is weapon average)
Once you forge 150k, you wont be able to forge anymore till you refine the
item at a mob called Karn. Refines cost gold for each piece, Help refine
in the game and itll give you full details.
When forging items, Especially weapons, Make sure to find out or figure
out if you need Weapon Average for your moves. If you can, you want to
forge 3 attributes on your weapon. Remember this Not all melee classes
require you to have Weapon Average (special hint for you).
Key thing to forging is making sure you know what you want to forge. It
is best to usually forge 3 attributes per piece. There are exceptions but
youll tweak with that soon as you get more familiar and try different
ideas out.
If you need Weapon average, make sure you forge damage, and 2 stats. You
dont really ever need to forge Hitroll/Damroll because youll get it from
equipment and everything.
If your class doesnt require you to get average, examples are Caster type
classes/some melee (demons are an example) then youll just want to forge
3 attributes.
Questing:
Quest tokens are the only way you can quest. There are other ways to get
quest points: Examples are Spinning quest tokens/spinning golden tokens
and receiving 1000 qps/Trivia answering the question correctly.
Quest points can lead into buying from the quest list:
Horadric Cube: 5000 qps, It allows you to use recipes in the cube.
Remember to id the recipe and put all the requirements into the cube + the
recipe the type Combine and youll have your new item.
Luck ring: Its a ring you wear that increases your chance on finding
Fullstatted items.
Greed Ring: Increases your gold per kill.
You can also buy pkpowers, which you can find under quest list in game to
find out more info about it.
